1 - Performance highlights
- 3-years performance: +322% vs S&P 500 +94%
- Year-to-date performance: +46% vs S&P 500 +11%
- May performance : +31% vs S&P 500 +7%
It's safe to say May was a very strong month for my portfolio. In this update, I share why I sold my Duolingo position (held since 2024) and the two positions I added this month, which are up 75% and 18% since.
To be honest, I was hoping I would have more time to fully build out both positions, but I am glad I got in anyway.I also trimmed a number of positions across the board to raise my cash balance, as the market has been hitting new all-time highs lately. While writing this update, the NASDAQ slid ~4% yesterday, and I plan to lean in slowly as stock prices come down.
I always share my buy and sell decisions directly in our community.

2 - Top movers and losers
Something interesting happened this month. Software sentiment flipped from "AI will kill it" to "AI can be a tailwind (for some)" in a matter of weeks. This was particularly true after DDOG and SNOW posted very strong results driven by their shift to consumption-based models.
I have already written an article breaking down the software stack and highlighting the businesses I believe are well-positioned to benefit and adjusted my portfolio accordingly. Since then, many of these stocks are up 50% or more over the past month or two.
Let's dive into my full portfolio breakdown and what I am planning to do in the months ahead.
